Semiclassical gravitational collapse of a radially symmetric massless scalar quantum field

We present a method to study the semiclassical gravitational collapse of radially symmetric scalar quantum field in coherent initial state. The formalism utilizes Fock space basis metric, is unitary and time reversal invariant up numerical precision. It maintains exact compatibility metric with expectation values energy momentum tensor state throughout entire evolution. find simple criterion for smallness discretization effects, which violated when horizon forms. As first example, we specific angular $l=0$ approximation. Outside simulated volume, it produces Schwarzschild ${r}_{s}\ensuremath{\sim}3.5{\ensuremath{\ell}}_{p}$. see behavior that compatible onset formation both corresponding classical cases regime where no evidence large artifacts. In our example setting, effects accelerate possible move outward. this effect robust against variations radial resolution, step, position shape inmoving state, vacuum subtraction, evolution operator, integration scheme metric. briefly discuss potential improvements possibility applying black hole evaporation. also touch on extension higher momenta but leave details numerics forthcoming publication.
